If you’re healing from a relationship that made you doubt yourself, you’re in the right place.
Welcome! I'm Johanna Montenegro, a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor in Texas. I work with women navigating the aftermath of a relationship with a narcissistic partner — whether you're still in it, in the middle of separating, or years into coparenting with someone who hasn't changed.
My approach combines EMDR, somatic therapy, and nervous system-informed care to help you process what happened, rebuild trust in yourself, and move forward — even if "moving forward" still means coparenting with the person who caused the harm.
I invite you into a space where you can begin exploring the inner workings of who you are as you step into processing your story. My role is to come alongside you as you navigate your experiences to resolve issues of deep wounding.
I look forward to walking alongside you in your healing journey.
Who I Work With
You might be here because:
You're trying to leave — or have left — a relationship with a narcissistic or emotionally abusive partner
You're coparenting with someone who uses manipulation, guilt, or the legal system to keep control
You’re confused about the dynamic of your relationship and want to understand if you are in fact experiencing abuse
Your reality and that of your partner/ex-partner do not match or make sense
You're exhausted from being told "it wasn't that bad" and want a therapist who actually understands coercive control
You're untangling religious beliefs that have kept you in a potentially damaging relationship
You are trying to parent your children and process relationship trauma at the same time
You're not sure if what you experienced "counts," and you want space to figure that out without judgment
This work often overlaps with grief, identity rebuilding, co-parenting stress, and trauma responses that don't make sense to people who haven't lived it.
